Sander Veraart

Sander Veraart’s journey in the world of football coaching began in 2001, when he took on the role of coach for the U7 to U13 teams and the first women’s team at De Kennemers. His passion for developing young talent quickly became evident, and he dedicated himself to nurturing the skills and sportsmanship of his players. For over a decade, Sander’s commitment and expertise helped lay a strong foundation for many young athletes, instilling in them the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

In 2014, Sander’s career took a significant step forward as he became the coach of the U13 team at ADO’20, competing in the highest division. His success in this role led to a position as an assistant coach for the U13 and U15 teams at AZ Alkmaar from 2013 to 2016. During this period, Sander honed his coaching techniques, learning from experienced colleagues and further establishing his reputation as a talented and dedicated coach.

Sander’s next major role was at FC Volendam, where he served as the head coach for the U12 and U14 teams and the assistant head of the Youth Academy from 2016 to 2019. His leadership and strategic approach helped shape the club’s youth development programs, and his influence extended beyond the pitch as he mentored young coaches and contributed to the overall growth of the academy.

In 2019, Sander returned to AZ Alkmaar, where he was appointed head coach of the U13 team and head of the Pre Academy (U10). His tenure in this position lasted until 2023, during which he played a crucial role in the early development of many young players, preparing them for the challenges of higher-level competition. His success in these roles led to his promotion as head coach of the U15 team and opponent analyst for AZ Alkmaar’s first team from 2023 to 2025.

Throughout his career, Sander has continuously sought to improve his knowledge and skills. He holds a UEFA A Youth diploma and a Master’s degree in Coaching from Johan Cruijff University. These qualifications, combined with his extensive experience, have made Sander Veraart a respected figure in football coaching, known for his ability to develop young talent and his strategic insights into the game.
